Position: Commodity Manager

Location: Cottondale, FL


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with suppliers in designated commodity
  • Communicate necessary information on behalf of Enviva to suppliers
  • Maintain knowledge of supplier operating capacity and ensure supplier harvest / delivery plans consistently satisfy supply plans defined by Regional Fiber Supply Planner
  •  Track and communicate performance (safety, delivery, cost, quality) trend information with suppliers and identify / suggest areas for continuous improvement to suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers provide current and accurate contractual and insurance documentation / requirements to Administrative staff
  • Provide requisition / tract setup information to Administrative staff to ensure material can be received at appropriate sites
  • Perform required forestry / sustainability / certification related audits
  • Work directly with suppliers to identify and secure certified content
  • Identify, communicate, and validate new potential sources of supply as necessary to fulfill supply plans or mitigate supplier performance issues
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate intimate knowledge of the current state of fiber supply business in the operating area, including competitor activity
  • Perform ad-hoc projects / tasks as needed to support team and company objectives

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a focus in forestry and / or business administration
  • Working knowledge of forestry, logging best practices, and sustainability certification schemes
  • Willingness to travel to and operate in remote outdoor environments
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining supplier relationships
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel
